National Police Week, 2023 – Washington, D.C.

“Remembering 443 Professional Law Enforcement Officers Who Have Made The Ultimate Sacrifice”

Representatives of the HCSO Foundation joined with Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, members of the HCSO Command Staff, the HCSO Honor Guard, Patrol Escort, Mounted Patrol Units, representatives of Harris County Constable Offices, HPD and surviving families members and LEO Colleagues from the entire nation to recognize those lost in the line of duty during 2022.

From across the nation, 443 surviving families, LEO agency representatives and supporters gathered together to offer our sincere condolences and to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in maintaining the public peace and public safety initiatives.

From the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at Judiciary Square, to the Candlelight Vigil held on the national mall, to a private dinner hosted by the HCSO Foundation for our fallen Harris County Peace Officers and their surviving families, (blood and blue), to the National Memorial Service held at the United States Capitol, we all respectfully gathered to support one another in the loss of so many of law enforcement professionals in the line of duty during the last year.

We encourage members of our community to continue to support our law enforcement officers and request that you take a moment during this police week to reflect upon the number 443 lost in the line of duty – indeed, one is too many!
