2016 Sharpshooters Event

October 13, 2016

With planned precision, the 2016 Harris County Sheriff’s Office Foundation Sharpshooters Challenge event at the Athena Gun club successfully raised funding to provide deputies of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office with additional safety equipment.

This annual event offers a high caliber shooting challenge competition, shared camaraderie, and an opportunity to view equipment donated by the HCSOF to assist the men and women at the HCSO in the performance of their duties as law enforcement professionals.

This year’s event highlighted equipment purchases generously donated by the HCSOF to the HCSO including an opportunity to meet the two recently donated K9 Officers RICO and KEIRA and their handlers.

Additional equipment available for viewing included the vehicles donated to support the efforts of the HCSO Homeless Outreach Team and also the recently donated state of the art Digital Leica Scan Station for use in the investigation of complex crime scene investigations.

This year’s event also featured a display of protective body armor vests used by law enforcement professionals and rolled out a special fundraising campaign by the HCSOF to provide additional funding to underwrite the costs of custom fit body armor protection for HCSO deputies.

For more information or to make a financial contribution in support of this initiative, please make a donation at the HCSOF website or contact Katrina Arnim at Katrina@hcsof.org
